Influence Curage and Unity

Hello beautiful VWOG, Hope your week is going great. Happy NEW YEAR! I am so excited on the first blog of the new year. I feel the spirit of God is moving already in great amounts!!!!!!! As I prayed this week I feel like God is saying influence. I begin to think "Well, God who do I influence?" then while at Elevate (an explosion of the word with the youth of surrounding area at Calvary, Epicenter Sunday at 7pm, Decatur, Alabama) a young girl approached me. I had not seen this young lady since she was about 5 but she remembered me 7 years later. She began asking me about Eleveate as it was her first time there. I began to share with her what I knew. She made the comment that because I was there it must be ok! That comment was my confirmation. God was showing me the influence we have as women. Even when we are just there enjoying being in the spirit, or anywhere else we ARE being watched!!! It is our job to spread the word of God! If we study and pray and walk with God all day for the rest of our lives and never spread that knowledge or His love WE HAVE FAILED! the bible references salt, if salt loses its flavor its worthless! If you cut your light on in your bedroom, close the door and walk into your closet that light does you know good!

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
                   Matthew 5:14-15 NIV

  Then courage. I ask God what does courage have to do with all of this? I heard we as women have to be bold! Be courageous to stand out in a crowd, in the world, and up against the enemy! And UNITY! We all know the saying "there's strength in numbers" well this is true in the spirital realm as well. The bible says:

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
                          Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV

So even the bible references the power in numbers. I believe it will take all of us united! No matter what specific denomination, if you hum, chant, cry out, speak in tongues,pray on sat or Sunday or 3 times on Tuesday; if you believe that Jesus died and He is Lord we have a job to do! I feel like I've been lead to pray with you so here goes :
  Lord, first we thank you for being God in our lives! We recognize that it is by your grace we have been saved from destruction. In this new year we give our lives back to you as a living sacrifice! We know our lives are not ours but vessels for you. We recognize we have a past but we ask you to clean us and make us pure again. We are no longer convicted but redeemed by your love. We open the door to our unhindered destiny. We ask you to close the door on our past and open the door to our future. We put you first and recognize you and you alone are God in our lives. This year make us stronger in your word, stronger in battle, more wise, more powerful in your name, more uncomfortable in places and situations that aren't of your will. Open our hearts and minds to love you and others like we've never loved before. Allow us to desire a relationship with you that we have never had before. Lord give us a new name in you.  Amen.

Give me a 5!

Hello Beautiful VWOG, hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and spent time with Jesus on his birthday! This week we will blog about 5, yes the number five! This week as I was praying about what to share with you guys I begin to get #5! Now initially I thought there was nothing special about the number 5! However, I was wrong! First lets briefly look at the number 5. The number 5 means Grace! You always hear women associated with Grace, "shes a woman of beauty and grace", or in my case after wearing my heels all day my walk was not very graceful last night! 5 is also associated with balance, for instance you have five fingers on each hand, five toes on each foot, 5 senses that allow you to function. A biblical fun fact David also chose 5 stones to fight Golliath (1Samuel 17:40). Now Hope you have your bibles! If you start in the old testament go to the 5th book,5th chapter &5th verse

(At that time I stood between the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain.) 
                     Deuteronomy 5:5 NIV

Here Moses is talking to Israel after he has been given the 10 commandments. He says, don't you remember when you were afraid I stood in the gap for you. As you know all to well sometimes because of whatever situation or circumstance we have going we need someone to stand in the gap for us, someone to act on our behalf, advocate for us, then come back and tell us what happened!  Now if you remember we are Israel and God is Moses then who stood in the gap for us? When we we're in bad shape, sinning like we breath and just in a horrible situation. Someone went to bat for us, saying ill go make it alright, his name was Jesus! If it weren't for him seriously where would your life be? Take a moment and truly think about it.....scary right? I personally know I was headed down a dark destructive path and if it was not for that covering, that extra shield I would have been gone along time ago. Now that we have a base turn your bible to the back and flip 5 books, 5th chapter &5th verse
          
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
                         1 John 5:5 NIV
Well here we are with Jesus again! This passage is speaking of those who Love God also love his children, wait children is plural which means more than just loving Jesus right? You have to love one another to love God!(food for thought) but through that love God shows us his grace! How do you get that grace, by believing Jesus is the son of God. The scripture says that those who do that will overcome the world(your situation). Now if you like me, it took me a min so ill break it down for you. In Deuteronomy He stood in the gap for us, in 1 John the belief in him will allow us to overcome. So Jesus will stand in the gap for us when we are going through situations to allow us to overcome them, if we believe!!

I hope this helped you and I pray you take the time to love on Jesus this week.  I believe Gods just like us in the way we like QT ladies He does too. Know Your Worth

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
                 Proverbs 31:10 NIV

In todays world how many of us truly know what we are worth? And If you are calculating your worth by the worlds standard ....we're pretty worthless! Like a penny with a hole in it or an over the limit credit card! BUT the Bible says we are worth more than a ruby. If you pick apart the scripture you see the word NOBLE, which means not just any kind will do, but an honorable woman. While some of us gals operate in the spiritual realm some of us don't! Now if you are not where you should or want to be just know its not too late! You can invite God into your heart and take control over your life right now!!!(and if you need help post or email me, there are several women of God on here that will be more than excited to pray with you), all of that to say your nobility is not determined by your past but its determined by your heart and the choices you make!  RUBY: the price of a ruby was unmatchable, it is unmarked and in Websters its says that a true ruby is a rare find! So we are rare, honorable and priceless! Beyond that WE ARE homemakers, support systems, teachers, students, shoulders to cry on, anchors to stay grounded and so much more! If I have to choose a definition to define my worth I will gladly take the Proverbs 31:10 definition!
